1 // WHAT IS LIFE+STYLE PHOTOGRAPHY?

Life+Style Photography is what we call our own signature blend of Editorial, Fashion and Documentary/Photojournalism styles. Our goal is always to deliver images that tell a story... that say something meaningful about you, your family, your friends and your special day.

2 // WHAT IS YOUR APPROACH ON THE WEDDING DAY?

Throughout most of your wedding day we shoot in an unobtrusive documentary style. We truly want to capture the story of your day, including all of the real emotion behind it. We feel that's best accomplished by fading into the background with perhaps some occasional guidance to put you in the most flattering light. Capturing your family and friends enjoying themselves is also an important storytelling component. Couples spend a lot of time picking out small but special details of their wedding day as well... so we make sure to capture all of it, whether it's your flowers, shoes, centerpieces or a special part of your ceremony. The candid nature of the majority of our coverage is the LIFE side of Life+Style Photography equation. We also love to capture beautiful artistic portraits of the bride & groom. In other words, we won't ask you to pose and say "cheese" while cutting the cake, but we will ask for about an hour with the bride & groom alone so that we can focus on creating gorgeous creative images. This is the STYLE side of DESI Life+Style Photography.

3// ARE THEIR LIMITS ON COVERAGE TIME OR IMAGES TAKEN?

We  put together a custom collection for each of our clients.  We will make sure you get the time you want and that we need to tell your wedding story. There is never a limit on images taken.

4 // WHAT IS YOUR LOCAL COVERAGE AREA? DO YOU TRAVEL?

Our typical coverage area is within a 50-mile radius of Washington DC. We love to travel and will go anywhere in the world for weddings with no added costs other than travel expenses.

5 // HOW FAR IN ADVANCE SHOULD WE BOOK WITH YOU?

You can book with us anytime as long as your date is still available. A wedding contract must be signed and Booking Fee received prior to us holding your date. Our clients generally book us an average of 9-12 months before their wedding date, but don't hesitate to contact us to check our availability.

6 // WHAT WILL YOU WEAR ON OUR WEDDING DAY?

Our goal is to be as unobtrusive as possible at your wedding. You should be the center of attention, not a photographer dressed in Jeans and Flip-Flops or that looks like they are wearing S.W.A.T. gear. We find that the best way to blend in is to dress like a guest at your wedding would dress, so we will discuss your wedding's style with you, and ensure that we are dressed appropriately. After the wedding our clients tend to say we looked like guests with nice cameras!

7 // ARE DONELLA & ERIC THE ONLY TWO PHOTOGRAPHERS WITH DESI STUDIOS?

Donella and Eric are the two lead photographers with DESI Studios. Depending on the size of the event and the clients wishes, we may bring associate photographers (aka - second shooters) or assistants with us to your event as needed.

8 // WHO WILL BE THE LEAD PHOTOGRAPHER FOR MY WEDDING?

Since Donella and Eric are both Lead Photographers, you can rest assured that you will receive the quality and service you can expect from DESI Studios.  We (almost) always shoot weddings together.

9 // WHAT IS YOUR EDITING STYLE?

Our Life+Style Photography approach to weddings is always the same, however we can offer a couple different shooting and post-processing styles based upon your wishes.  Some prefer photographs that are light, airy, desaturated and focused on beautiful natural light.  Others prefer photos that are more vibrant, colorful and dramatic - emphasizing the contrast between light & shadows.  During our pre-wedding consultation, we'll ascertain the style you like best and make it happen both in capture and post-production.

10 // WILL YOU PUT OUR IMAGES IN AN ONLINE GALLERY

Yes! We use the best online gallery in the industry called PASS. It allows us to post your images online for you and your family & guests to see. You can share them on sites like Facebook or Pintrest if you like, and even order inexpensive prints of your favorites from our professional printers. 

11 // HOW DO YOU STRIVE TO PROVIDE EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE?

At DESI Studios, we strive to make excellent customer service part of everything we do. It is our highest priority. First and foremost, communication is a key! From your initial contact and consultation, through delivery of your final products, we maintain consistent communication to ensure we meet all of your expectations. If there is a problem of any kind (like one of your prints arriving damaged, for example)... we'll do what it takes to get the issue corrected and resolved as quickly as possible...guaranteed.

12 // WHY ARE YOU WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHERS?

We photograph weddings because we love being part of one of the most joyful celebratory experiences of people's lives. We are storytellers at heart. We love to capture special moments and craft a story through imagery that will be cherished throughout your lifetime and beyond. We also love creating art. There is nothing like taking the inherent beauty of the love between two people and making it even more memorable through our creativity.

13 // HOW LONG BEFORE I SEE MY PHOTOS?

We post a sneak peak of some of our favorite images within two weeks of your wedding to your on-line gallery. All of your images will be ready within four weeks.

14 // WHAT PRODUCTS DO YOU OFFER?

DESI Studios is a full-service wedding photography studio which means we won't be just handing you a DVD-ROM of images or a set of unedited proofs. We offer all of the products couples and their families would want, from photo bridal announcements/save the dates to photographic Thank You cards and everything in between. Our specialty is producing DESI Signature Fine Art Books (which will likely be the first heirloom for your new family) and DESI Signature Gallery Prints (which can be some of the first custom art pieces for the walls of your new home together).

15 // DO YOU HAVE BUSINESS INSURANCE?

Absolutely! Please let us know if your venue requires a certificate of insurance at least 30 days prior to your event.

16 // ARE YOU MEMBERS OF ANY PROFESSIONAL ASSOCIATIONS?

Good question! We are proud and active members of the Professional Photographers of America (PPA) and Wedding and Portrait Professionals International (WPPI). We continually invest in our own professional and artistic development.

17 // WHAT IF YOU GET SICK OR INJURED ON OUR WEDDING DAY?

We have a network of experienced professional wedding photographers that we trust and   can call on in the event of an unforeseen and unavoidable problem... but we would only do so if absolutely necessary.

18 // WHAT IF YOUR CAMERA EQUIPMENT BREAKS?

We are always prepared for each event with backup camera bodies, lenses and lighting gear. We won't let Murphy crash your party!

19 // WHAT IF YOUR MEMORY CARD FAILS OR IS LOST?

All of our camera bodies have dual-card slots so that we have two copies of every image we capture. When we have to switch cards, one card stays on the photographer's person at all times, while the other is locked in our gear bag. Your images are always protected against loss or damage.

20 // WHAT IF IT RAINS ON OUR WEDDING DAY?

In the event that it rains, we are quite adept at making beautiful pictures indoors with artificial light. We bring a full lighting setup to every wedding... just in case. But... if you're feeling adventurous, we can get some really fun images outside w/ or w/o umbrellas!
